Mission Statement:

East St. Louis Senior High School is committed to empowering every student to persevere, learn, and thrive by providing a safe and nurturing environment with opportunities to explore employment, enrollment, enlistment, or entrepreneurship, and by challenging and supporting all students to achieve high levels of learning.

Vision Statement:

East St. Louis Senior High School will create a culture of high expectations and maximized learning experiences as students are challenged by teachers and peers to work collaboratively for overall success. Students will be fully prepared with college and career readiness skills as they advance to compete in a global society fully prepared for their future.

Summer 2026 Meals

East St. Louis School District 189 is hosting the Summer Food Program now through July 31st to ensure free meals are provided to all children (ages 18 and under) during the summer. Free breakfast and lunch are available, Monday through Friday, at multiple school locations.

East St. Louis Students Earn Opportunity to Begin College Early at SWIC

A growing number of students at East St. Louis Senior High School are taking bold steps toward their future by qualifying to attend Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) full-time while still in high school.

After recently completing the ACCUPLACER exam, a new group of students (see attached photo) has qualified — an opportunity that allows them to earn college credit and accelerate their path to a degree.
